On that Marble Ledge

On a marble ledge she sits
Pondering her fiances loss
Who will never see her tomorrows
Warfare becomes her boss

Whilst the moonlight shines
Time lapse captures the scene
Thoughts from a second ago
No longer say what they mean

Many nights she will sit there
Head in her hands thinking why
Conflicts we continue to engineer
Why we still have to kill to die

On this marble ledge she sits
Tomorrow her windows of life will reopen
And just maybe we will come to our senses
For our future generation I'm hoping

In a Different Dream

I awoke this morning
In this UK land
Where people went about
Their daily plan

Someone else awoke
In a different dream
All he left behind
Were silent screams

His twin brother
Their Solicitor at work
A colleague, a friend
What lit this spark

His rampage continued
From village to village
Hindsight, gun sight
Leaden pillage

Many others perished
To this mind from
The flick of a switch
His internal bomb

Then the inevitable
To a wooded covering
Can't face the music
No guilty hearing

Once again
There's the ones left behind
Who have to unravel
This man from mankind

America and Finland have seen recent events on a tragic scale.
The UK has in the past seen such events also with Hungerford
and the children in Dunblane. Sadly we see it once again.

May his soul ROT in HELL.

They Only Went and Done It

Terrorist factions
Will detonate a device
That will flatten our city
Destroying millions of lives

If their demands are not met
By midnight tonight
All that we have
Will disappear from sight

The hours pass
Bulletin after bulletin
As I think to myself
It's just a matter of when

Many thoughts
Are now running through our heads
Trying to phone our families
Struggling to comprehend

Minutes seem like days
As midnight draws near
Towards our city home we look
Captured in unknown fear

On the cabin balcony we stand
Listening to the TV set
It's the voice of the city mayor
No terrorist demands will ever be met

I turn to my wife
Tears streaming down her face
We are so far away from our children
In this beautiful tranquil place

The last chime of midnight passes
Holding hands to the horizon we view
An explosion of light so immense
To the heavens in mushroom spew

We can hear the thunderous roar
Although we are so far away
The crockery in the cabin now rattles
As we await our final day

The distance grows ever near
As we hear a strange whistling sound
Sporodic flashes light up the valley
Violent winds thrash our surrounds

Before our eyes, we believe
A nuclear tsunami heads our way
We declare our love and bow our heads
For our children and friends we pray

A Families Goodbye's

When the telegram came I entered another world
So many questions with so few answers
Why did you have to go on that last tour
Thoughts without you, how do I tell our children

The morning arrives when our family parts in presence
But our love will remain in our hearts and souls
We will stand proud amidst the sadness
And say our goodbye's at the folding of the flag

Heartfelt sympathies grace his memories as we absorb
the warmth from family, friends and colleagues
The long walk back to the car has me looking over
my shoulder, hoping that I'll see you one more time

Conversations abound in the periphary, whilst tears interject
on this emotional day
Through the voices I look one last time, silence I now meet
Without you in our lives, we now reside in an empty apartment

Why Red Roses Flow

Every year she returns to the scene
This place in question where life has been mean
On muddy banks down by the waterline
Alone in her tomorrow's, solitary resigned

Having already lost her husband in his freedom fight
No mother should enter this fateful night
Her baby, her son, that a mother sees to grow
Wandered from her safety to that fast water flow

All innocent and fearless little steps slowly walked
In playful surrounds just barely in talk
Noises up ahead attract this mind to peek see
So curious they are when they get a chance to break free

Down an unclimbable bank he faced his lure
Once a slow flowing stream soon to take natures pure
Yesterdays storms allowed the heavens to cry
Whilst his mother kneels down and still asks herself why

In her hand she clasps a bunch of Roses so red
Tears fill her eyes knowing her tomorrow's lie dread
Once again she looks back, facing a mothers fear
A last glimpse of the flow, feeling her lost sons tears

Anastasia

She leans whispering,

whilst black deadened eyes stare back ~~

Amidst translucent

reflection, she now reflects ~~~*

In compassionate sorrow.

Her sibbling taken

having disappeared years back ~~

Background beauty blooms

in ignorance of her loss ~~~*

If only they knew the truth.
